Solana ETFs Surpass Bitcoin in Growth Rate, but Bitcoin Leads in Dollar Inflows
Crypto exchange-traded funds (ETFs) attracted $10.2 billion in net new investments in the third quarter of 2026, according to SoSoValue. This is a significant increase from previous quarters. Bitcoin funds took the largest share, raising $6.3 billion, but their growth rate was lower compared to other funds. Solana funds, on the other hand, posted the fastest growth among major fund groups, with a 42% increase in lifetime inflows. This growth rate is higher than that of Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP funds, which saw 12%, 28%, and 21% growth rates respectively. Solana's total inflows jumped from $1.1 billion to $1.6 billion, making it a standout performer in the quarter.
Bitcoin's $6.3 billion inflow mainly reaffirms its position as the default choice for crypto holdings, but its growth rate is lower compared to other funds. Ethereum funds performed well on both dollar inflows and growth rates, securing second place in dollar inflows with $3.1 billion and second in growth with 28%. Solana and XRP funds also showed significant growth, but their total inflows are lower compared to Ethereum.
As we move into the fourth quarter, Solana's funds start with a total of $1.6 billion. To achieve another 42% rise, it would need an additional $680 million, significantly more than the previous quarter's $480 million. If Solana funds exceed $480 million in the upcoming quarter, it could reinforce the notion that demand for Solana continues to climb.
