Solana Flips Ethereum in Fees, But Which Network Offers Better Economics?
The recent data from DefiLlama's dashboard snapshot shows that Solana has surpassed Ethereum in user fees, while Ethereum still holds the lead in burning fees. Over a 24-hour period, Solana generated around $1.1 million in chain fees, compared to Ethereum's $649,423.
However, when looking at the reported burns, Ethereum led with $226,298, followed closely by Solana's $117,138. This split highlights that users' spending on transaction fees can reach validators and applications without necessarily benefiting holders of the network's coin.
Solana also took the lead in 7-day and 30-day fees displayed on DefiLlama's dashboard. In fact, Solana's 30-day chain fees reached $23.6 million, outpacing Ethereum's $12 million.
