The Solana Foundation has bolstered its team by hiring two industry veterans. Rachel Conlan, former Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) at Binance, has joined as Chief Strategy Officer (CSO). She will oversee strategy for institutional partnerships, ecosystem growth, and enterprise adoption of Solana.

Conlan's appointment is part of a broader effort to strengthen the foundation's relationships with key stakeholders. The Solana Developer Platform, launched in March, has already attracted notable users such as Mastercard and Western Union.

In related news, Jamil Rice, a former executive at Polygon Labs, has been appointed head of payments. He will focus on expanding cooperation between the Solana Foundation and global payments companies, while supporting infrastructure development for businesses building Solana-based payment services.

The hires come as the network prepares to upgrade with Alpenglow, which aims to reduce transaction finality times from 12.8 seconds to a mere 150 milliseconds.
