Solana Governance Proposal Sets Stage for Stronger Long-Term Fundamentals

Investors are weighing mixed signals from Solana's (SOL) on-chain data and governance proposals. While retail participation has slowed, a proposed change to the network's token issuance model could strengthen Solana's long-term supply dynamics.

A sharp decline in SOL holders over the past two weeks has raised concerns about near-term demand. The number of wallet holders fell from nearly 11.8 million to around 11.3 million, according to Glassnode data.

However, a proposed acceleration of Solana's disinflation schedule could reduce future token emissions by an estimated $1.39 billion over the next six years. If approved, this change would make SOL increasingly scarce over time and potentially improve its appeal to long-term investors.
