Solana Governance Vote Nears with Critical Frontend Fix Needed

Solana's governance vote is approaching, with a critical fix needed before epoch 1021. The network's frontend still displays a 60% quorum path, which conflicts with its stated one-third rule for achieving a quorum.

The discrepancy is a display issue, not an indication of any corruption in Solana's on-chain voting system. A proposed frontend fix, pull request 170, remains open and would use the proposal's snapshot total and mark participation unavailable when matching metadata is missing.

The Solana Foundation repository lists public proposals with voting enabled, a start at epoch 1021 and an end at epoch 1024. The network sample implies that epoch 1021 will begin around 03:35 to 03:50 UTC on August 23, assuming the observed slot rate persists.
