Solana Meme Token Dominance Reaches 42% Amid Revival of Trading Activity
Meme tokens are once again driving trading activity on Solana's decentralized exchanges (DEXs), accounting for approximately 42% of all daily DEX volume. This marks a significant increase from late 2025, when meme token dominance had collapsed to below 10%. The resurgence is largely attributed to the success of Pump.fun, which includes the PumpSwap platform, and has contributed around $492 million to Solana's total daily DEX volume of about $1.178 billion.
The platform saw a significant boost in trading volumes after ANSEM surged approximately 299% within a single week in July. This lifted dormant traders back into action and brought new investors into the market. The low transaction fees and rapid execution on Solana make it an ideal playground for high-frequency speculation, while Pump.fun's streamlined process for creating, listing, and trading new tokens has made it trivially easy to participate.
Looking at the broader picture, Solana DEXs reported approximately $50.3 billion in volume over a 30-day period as of late July 2026. While this is still below the $2 billion daily highs from earlier in 2026, the current activity level indicates a growing interest in meme tokens and the platforms that support them.
