The Solana memecoin economy has heated up with a battle between two platforms: Fomo and Pump.fun. Both are vying for the attention of degenerate traders, who drive order flow. Fomo has been quietly building momentum since 2025 and reached its sixth consecutive week of all-time high trading volume in August.

Solana accounts for more than half of Fomo's total trader flow, with weekly revenue crossing $2M recently. This growth is significant enough that Fomo briefly overtook Axiom in daily fees on August 6.

Pump.fun, launched in January 2024, has been the default launchpad for Solana memecoins and responded to Fomo's growth by releasing a new social trading feature on August 7. This move led to new all-time highs in daily active users for Pump.fun.

Pump.fun operates under a fee-free model, which removes friction points for high-frequency traders. Its native token, $PUMP, has surged 87% over the past 30 days. Programmatic buybacks support the token price as platform usage grows.
