Solana Network Prepares for Biggest Upgrade Since Launch: Agave 4.2
The Solana network is set to receive its biggest upgrade since launch in the form of Agave 4.2, which includes three key changes: cheaper rent, bigger transactions, and faster blocks.
According to official sources, the update will cut rent costs by a staggering 90%, increase transaction size by a factor of 3.3, and halve slot times from 400ms to just 200ms.
This upgrade is particularly significant for developers, as it will make it cheaper to create on-chain accounts, enable more complex transactions such as multisig approvals, and reduce the time users spend waiting for confirmation.
