Solana Perpetual DEXs Surge Past $183 Billion in Q2 Trading Volume
Solana-based perpetual decentralized exchanges (DEXs) reached new heights in Q2 2026, with notional trading volumes soaring to a record $183.2 billion. This milestone marks a 42% increase from the previous quarter and solidifies Solana's position as the most actively traded derivatives platforms for that period.
The growth can be attributed to several factors, including low fees and block finality times close to 400 milliseconds on the Solana blockchain. This infrastructure enables fast and efficient order matching and execution, narrowing spreads on leveraged products and providing more competitive pricing for traders.
Multiple platforms, such as Jupiter Perpetuals, Drift, and Zeta Markets, contributed to this surge in activity by leveraging Solana's technical advantages. Institutional market makers also enhanced their quoting during US and Asian trading hours, adding depth and liquidity to the order books.
The adoption of real-world assets (RWAs) on platforms like 1stepSwap is another key factor driving growth. These integrated wallet features allow users to access RWAs such as shares of major US companies and commodities like gold and silver, making blockchain-powered derivatives more accessible to global users.
