Solana Price Action Lags Behind Growing Network Activity and Tokenization
Solana (SOL) saw modest gains on Saturday, but its price action belied strong network activity and expanding tokenization. The cryptocurrency traded at $74.83, up 1.49% over the prior day, although 24-hour trading volume fell 46.14% to about $829.7 million.
Despite this, Solana's usage metrics are flashing strength. Weekly active addresses surpassed 18 million, placing Solana ahead of major networks including BNB Chain, Tron, Bitcoin (BTC), and Ethereum (ETH) over the same period.
Data from DefiLlama indicates that Solana's 'total value locked' (TVL) has remained relatively steady around $5 billion, signaling that capital committed to Solana-based DeFi has not meaningfully retreated despite broader market pullbacks.
