Solana Price Prediction Tied to Alpenglow Upgrade as Remittix Revamps Dashboard
Solana's Alpenglow upgrade is making progress in test environments, which keeps the price prediction tied to an important network upgrade. The goal of achieving roughly 150 milliseconds for finality could make applications feel more immediate, especially where users need confidence that a payment or trading action has completed.
The Solana Foundation's September update lists Alpenglow as active on testnet and devnet, with mainnet not yet activated. Its target is approximately 150ms finality compared to about 12.8 seconds under the existing consensus approach. This refers to when a transaction becomes final, not how often blocks are produced.
The upgrade changes how validators agree on transactions while leaving execution intact. Applications would retain their familiar execution environment, making the intended user benefit faster certainty without requiring an entirely new programming model.
