Solana Price Pullback Amid Alpenglow Upgrade Milestone
Solana's price has retreated to around $114 after a recent rally that saw it surge over 13% before stalling. The pullback is attributed to rising interest rates, a stronger US dollar, and the network milestone of the Alpenglow upgrade approaching public testnet activation.
The Alpenglow upgrade, which introduces TowerBFT with Votor, enables validators to vote directly and finalize blocks quickly, aiming for finality in about 150 milliseconds. This is roughly 85 times faster than the current level of around 12.8 seconds.
In related news, Solana ETFs have attracted $13.77 million in net inflows on September 23, with Fidelity's FSOL leading the way at $6.74 million. The total assets now amount to $1.73 billion, representing 2.58% of Solana's market value.
