Solana Price Slips Amid Network Upgrades
The Solana network is making progress on several fronts, but its price has taken a hit. As of September 16, 2026, the SOL token had fallen to $97.34, down 3.9% in the past 24 hours.
This decline comes despite three significant updates to the Solana network in recent days. On September 15 and 16, DAWN launched a new tokenization vault on the network called USD.infra Vault. This project aims to bring real-world connectivity assets onto the blockchain by turning cash flows from wireless networks and compute infrastructure into structured, revenue-backed instruments.
The launch of USD.infra Vault is seen as a significant milestone for the Solana ecosystem. It demonstrates the network's ability to support real-world use cases and provides a new opportunity for developers to build innovative applications.
Separately, Anatoly Yakovenko, co-founder of Solana Labs, confirmed that a post-quantum security constraint has been resolved. This allows builders to combine three post-quantum cryptography signers inside one multisig smart wallet, giving them more flexibility as quantum-safe standards evolve.
