Solana Price Soars on Stablecoin Regulation Hopes

The Solana price surged to $122.18 after a proposal from the US Federal Reserve for further regulation of stablecoin issuers.

The move is significant because stablecoins form a substantial part of both trading volume and payments on the Solana blockchain, which could attract regulated issuers and users if clear regulations are put in place.

The proposed rules would require stablecoin issuers to hold 100% of their assets against approved assets, such as short-term US treasury bills, and have sufficient capital capacity to absorb losses.

Solana has already gained 2.13% since the announcement, but it faces its next test near the $124 price level.
