Solana Price Surges as US Fed Proposes Stablecoin Regulations

Instruments

The Solana price has reached its highest level in months, surpassing $122 after the US Federal Reserve proposed new regulations for stablecoin issuers. The proposals would require issuers to hold 100% of their stablecoins against approved assets, such as short-term US treasury bills.

This move could have a significant impact on the Solana blockchain, which hosts a large portion of trading volume and payments in stablecoins. Clear regulations could attract regulated issuers and users to use stablecoins on public blockchains like Solana.

At the time of writing, SOL was trading at around $119.51 after gaining 2.13%. The immediate hurdle for the price is between $122 and $124 levels, with a convincing move beyond this range potentially leading to further gains.
