Solana Sees Boost from Virtuals Protocol AI Agent Launch
Solana's ecosystem of AI agents is set to get a boost from Virtuals Protocol, which launched new tools on Solana on August 24. These tools allow for the creation and ownership of artificial intelligence (AI) agents that can raise funds using their own tokens. This could lead to more activity on the chain, as more agents are created to take advantage of these new capabilities.
The Virtuals protocol will convert 1% of trading fees into buying Solana, which will help reduce the supply of coins in circulation. Additionally, the network will incur a transaction fee on every agent transaction, and some of this revenue may be used to buy back Solana tokens and burn them, further reducing the supply.
A governance vote is currently underway that could increase daily burns from 648 to 7,500 to 9,000 Solana coins, which would have a significant impact on the price. While the new Virtuals platform may not send Solana's price soaring in September on its own, it is an important development for the network and its users.
