Solana Stablecoin Payments Now Available for Over 300 Airlines
The travel platform Nomadz has integrated Solana-based stablecoins as a payment method for purchasing commercial airline tickets across more than 300 international airlines.
This move enables users to search standard routes on the portal and pay the final price using digital assets pegged to the US dollar, such as USD Coin (USDC).
The transaction process operates via an intermediated merchant bridge, meaning partnered airlines do not custody cryptocurrency directly or alter their fiat accounting workflows.
Nomadz leverages the Solana Pay protocol and relies primarily on the stablecoin USDC to confirm balances. The platform also linked an on-chain travel identity system to validate reservation credentials.
In an initial adoption incentive, Nomadz introduced a 30-day zero-fee promotion on flight issuance commissions, which will conclude at the end of the first month.
