Solana Staking Network Survives Near-Disaster with 28.83% Offline
A recent staking outage on Solana's network briefly took 28.83% of staked SOL offline, pushing the network to a critical threshold that could have halted transaction confirmation.
The incident occurred when routing failure at Teraswitch, a staking infrastructure provider, disconnected 94% of the stake held by AS20326, an autonomous system associated with the provider.
Martinade Finance, a leading liquid staking protocol on Solana, attributed the outage to a failover infrastructure and routing systems used by Teraswitch, not a flaw in Solana's core protocol.
