Solana Surges Ahead of Q4 as Bitcoin and XRP Lag Behind
Crypto markets have kicked off Q4 with more momentum than stocks and gold. According to data from Santiment, Bitcoin rose roughly 7% in September 2026, beating a flat S&P 500 and gold's 6% drop.
Solana led the 90-day crypto surge with a 48% gain, while XRP and Bitcoin gained around 37% and 36%, respectively. Despite these recent gains, all three cryptocurrencies remain significantly below their previous highs.
The strong demand from funds, corporate purchases, clearer regulations, and increased interest in currencies beyond Bitcoin have contributed to the rally. Solana ETFs captured 0.27% of its market cap in one week, with 12 straight weeks of inflows signaling the strongest institutional demand.
However, rising bond yields and high leverage may trigger sharp pullbacks in the market. The 10-year Treasury yield stood at 5.17%, offering a secure return that competes with cryptocurrencies that offer no interest.
