Solana Surges on Institutional Activity and Ecosystem Upgrades
Solana's SOL token has seen a significant surge in value after strong institutional inflows into new ETFs and ecosystem upgrades. The price of SOL has risen by over 6% to $93.67, according to data from various sources.
The uptick is attributed to the rollout of the Agave 4.2 upgrade, which increased transaction speed on the Solana network. Additionally, key governance proposals are under review to improve tokenomics through adjustments to coin issuance and daily token burns.
MoneyGram's expanded integration enabled stablecoin-to-cash conversion at hundreds of thousands of locations, further contributing to the growth in ecosystem activity.
Despite the bullish momentum, technical indicators suggest that SOL may be approaching overbought conditions. However, analysts note that sustained buying into the close and a lack of immediate signs of reversal indicate ongoing strength in the token's price action.
