Solana Surges to $112 as Project Harmonia and Network Upgrades Drive Rally
Solana has seen a significant surge in price, reaching $112 on Thursday and its highest level since January. This represents an 11% increase from the previous day's price. The Bitwise Solana Staking ETF (BSOL) also saw gains, increasing by 12.04% to $15.54.
The trading volume for BSOL has been substantial, reaching $85 million in a single day. This is part of a larger trend in the crypto market, with total futures open interest sitting near $7 billion and derivatives data showing a decidedly bullish sentiment.
However, this bullishness comes with a warning: leverage is becoming increasingly important to the rally. CoinGlass data shows that Solana liquidations reached $38.21 million over 24 hours, with a staggering 96% of those liquidations being bearish positions.
The fresh catalysts driving this surge in price include the announcement of Project Harmonia by the Solana Foundation. This program links Solana with Allfunds, the world's largest fund distribution network, which connects over 3,300 asset managers and financial institutions and oversees around €1.9 trillion in assets under administration.
