Solana Surpasses Ethereum in RWA Holders as Tokenization Demand Grows
Solana's growth in tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) is a strong signal for increased demand in tokenization, according to recent network activity. The Solana Foundation reported that RWA value crossed $3 billion and cumulative tokenized-stock volume exceeded $10 billion in June. Daily tokenized-stock trading also reached $683 million, showing significant activity beyond issuance into secondary-market trading.
The expansion of RWAs on Solana is driven by products representing equities, funds, and financial assets. Tokenized equity trading on the network reached roughly 95% of activity across blockchains in mid-June, highlighting the ecosystem's development in a relatively young market. The SOL Foundation cites high-speed settlement and low transaction costs as advantages for tokenized markets, where trading can occur around the clock.
The recent launches illustrate this shift, with Backpack Securities bringing tokenized SpaceX shares to Solana on its IPO day. June activity included tokenized funds, stocks, and credit. These developments connect Solana's DeFi infrastructure with traditional financial markets.
