Solana Surpasses Major Stock Exchange in Trading Volume, Sets New Transaction Speed Record

The Solana blockchain has reached new milestones in terms of trading volume, network performance, and adoption. According to on-chain data, Solana generated more spot trading volume last week than the NYSE American exchange, a venue that lists thousands of smaller-cap US-listed stocks.

This is significant because it shows that retail and institutional flow now moves through the Solana network on a weekly basis. The comparison puts Solana's spot activity above an entire regulated stock exchange, rather than just another crypto trading venue.

The chain's transaction speed also stands out, with data showing approximately 2,124 transactions per second, well ahead of every other major chain measured in the same snapshot. This includes BNB Chain at 192 transactions per second, Tron at 129 transactions per second, Base at 120 transactions per second, Polygon at 68.9 transactions per second, and Ethereum at 22 transactions per second.
