Solana, a leading blockchain network, is setting its sights on Hong Kong as part of a broader expansion strategy in the Asia-Pacific region. The move comes amid growing demand for tokenisation in the city, according to Joseph Chee, chairman and CEO of Solana Company. In an interview earlier this week, Chee highlighted the significant opportunities available in the region for the blockchain platform.

Founded in the US in 2018, Solana has grown to become one of the most popular cryptocurrencies. As of Friday, the Solana token boasts a market capitalisation of about US$53 billion, making it the world’s seventh-largest cryptocurrency, according to CoinMarketCap. This substantial market presence underscores the platform’s potential to capitalise on the burgeoning tokenisation market in Hong Kong.
