Solana Tests Upgrade for Near-Instant Transaction Finality
Solana has begun testing an upgrade aimed at reducing transaction finality times from approximately 12.8 seconds to around 150 milliseconds, according to a report by KuCoin.
The proposed change would significantly improve the speed of transactions on the Solana network, which is already known for its fast processing and low fees.
Finality refers to the point at which a transaction is considered permanent and irreversible. Shorter finality times can reduce the risk of chain reorganizations and give applications more confidence in confirmed transactions.
