Solana Transactions Soar to Record High Amid Governance Vote

Solana's network activity reached a new record in July, according to The Kobeissi Letter, which counted over 4.2 billion transactions on the blockchain.

This represents a 13.5% increase from June and a significant jump of 91% above December 2025 figures.

The recent surge in activity comes as validators are in the final epoch of Solana's first formal governance vote, which includes proposals to reduce new SOL issuance by about $1.5 billion over six years.

Two of the three ballot measures, SIMD-0550 and SIMD-0553, aim to cut down inflation on the network, with the former doubling the annual disinflation rate from 15% to 30%. The latter proposal splits the flat transaction fee into an inclusion fee and a resource fee that is burned in full.
