Nicosia Man Loses €65,415 to Cryptocurrency Investment Scam

A 53-year-old man in Nicosia has lost over €65,000 to cryptocurrency investment fraud. The police are investigating after he filed a complaint on Wednesday.

The victim received a phone call from an unknown person speaking Greek, who offered assistance in claiming profits from previous investments in cryptocurrency. The suspect referred the man to a second person, allegedly his supervisor, who asked him to download an app to his computer and smartphone.

The man followed the instructions, giving the suspects access to his bank account and resulting in losses of €65,415 through various transactions.
