Solana Ups Transaction Size Limit Threefold with Network Upgrade
Solana's recent network upgrade has increased the maximum transaction size from 1,232 bytes to 4,096 bytes, allowing developers to include more data in a single transaction.
This change is significant because it removes a long-standing constraint that complicated multisignature transactions, privacy applications, and multi-step operations. As a result, Solana's blockchain can now handle more complex trades and applications, potentially leading to increased usage and fees.
The upgrade, known as Transaction V1, was rolled out on September 15 at approximately 01:00 UTC, according to the Solana Foundation.
Solana's price remains below the psychologically important $100 level, currently trading around $97.41. However, the network's growth and technical capabilities are moving in a more constructive direction, with rapid expansion in areas such as tokenized equities.
