The Solana network's inflation cut proposal has passed with 67% support from validators, clearing the required supermajority threshold by just 0.33 percentage points.

The approved proposal, SGP-0002, doubles the annual disinflation rate from 15% to 30%, which is expected to reduce SOL issuance by approximately 18.9 million tokens over six years.

This change will shorten the estimated path to Solana's 1.5% terminal inflation floor, reaching it in around 2.8 years instead of the current 5.7 years.
