Solana Validators Concentrated in Frankfurt and Amsterdam Spark Decentralization Concerns

The Solana network is facing scrutiny over its validator distribution, with Frankfurt and Amsterdam producing more than half of all blocks. According to an analysis, 33% of Solana blocks are produced in Frankfurt, while 19% come from Amsterdam.

These two cities account for a significant portion of the network's validators, with 310 out of 675 located there. This concentration raises concerns about decentralization and security on the Solana network.

The analysis highlights that the 46% of validators in Frankfurt and Amsterdam hold 53% of the total stake, which could lead to potential risks for the network. As the broader cryptocurrency market experiences mixed signals, this validator concentration may further complicate perceptions of Solana's resilience.
