Solana Voters to Decide Fate of 14x Burn Rate Increase
Solana's governance proposals are at the center of attention as voters weigh in on three major initiatives. The first proposal, known as the 'Solana Constitution,' aims to establish a new governance framework for the network.
The second proposal doubles down on disinflation measures, targeting an 18.9 million SOL emissions cut over six years. This move has sparked a bullish supply shock narrative among traders, who believe that implementing these measures will tighten the float and boost the price of SOL.
Voting for the proposals is set to close at the end of epoch 1023 on Thursday, with the outcome having significant implications for Solana's supply dynamics. If passed, the disinflation proposal would push daily SOL burning from approximately 648 tokens to a whopping 9,000 tokens, a nearly 14x increase.
