Solana's Alpenglow upgrade has completed its two-week bug bounty competition, receiving over 300 vulnerability reports from global security researchers. The upgrade aims to reduce transaction finality times from 12.8 seconds to 100-150 milliseconds by overhauling the consensus mechanism.

The bounty offered up to 50,000 SOL in rewards, distributed based on bug severity, with payouts locked for a year. This marks the first large-scale security test for Alpenglow, with results and payouts pending final review by September 2.
