Solana's upcoming Alpenglow consensus upgrade is set to reduce finality times from around 12.8 seconds to a mere 150 milliseconds, according to SolanaFloor.

The upgrade, which is tied to the adoption of Anza's Agave 4.3 software, will allow validators to vote directly and finalize blocks faster.

Solana's SOL token held above $110 after a brief retreat from resistance near $120, despite the broader crypto market declining by 2.42% to $2.84 trillion on Thursday.

The recent surge in U.S. spot Solana ETFs, which recorded $13.77 million in net inflows on Sept. 23, suggests growing institutional interest in the network.
