However, this event raises questions about the lack of slashing penalties for validators, which may reduce their incentives to prevent downtime and impact staking rewards for token holders.

The Solana team has announced an upcoming upgrade called Alpenglow aimed at improving safety by pausing block production rather than risking inconsistent transactions.
