Solana's On-Chain Strength May Be Quietly Building for Next Major Move

Solana's (SOL) price has been bearish for 10 months straight, but its on-chain fundamentals are telling a different story.

The network's 2026 cycle is one of its weakest on record, with SOL closing July down 1.1% and printing its 10th consecutive monthly red candle.

However, the SIMD-0286 upgrade activated in July has improved network efficiency, reducing transaction fees by 30% and increasing the compute limit to handle demand spikes without affecting network activity.

On-chain activity is actually moving in the opposite direction of price weakness, with Solana processing 8.7 billion transactions in July, its highest monthly count in four months.

Analysts believe that SOL's on-chain strength may be hard to ignore, particularly considering the bullish technical setup forming as a breakout-and-retest structure, similar to previous cycles.
