Kraken Experiences Significant Bitcoin Withdrawals Amid Supply Squeeze Speculation
Bitcoin whales pulled a significant amount of cryptocurrency off Kraken, sparking discussions about potential supply squeezes and institutional accumulation. According to Whale Alert, two major transactions totalling 2,957 BTC (worth approximately $186.6 million) were moved from the exchange into unknown wallets.
The first transfer saw 1,800 BTC valued at $113.56 million leave Kraken, while the second transaction moved 1,157 BTC worth $73.06 million. Historically, such withdrawals have reflected coins leaving exchange custody and reducing immediately available trading supply rather than preparing assets for liquidation.
Large investors often prefer self-custody or custodial wallets after acquiring significant positions, especially during periods of market uncertainty. However, exchange outflows alone do not guarantee sustained upside, as broader market participation still determines price direction.
