Solana is gaining attention as Samsung integrates its blockchain to enable stablecoin transfers on Galaxy devices. Starting late October, 82 million U.S. Samsung Wallet users will be able to send USD Coin internationally, a move that could significantly boost Solana's utility. While the direct impact on Solana's price may not be immediate, the deal represents a major step forward in real-world adoption.
The network's low fees and fast transaction speeds make it ideal for remittances, a key use case. However, Solana will compete with other networks like Sui on Samsung devices, and users won't need to hold SOL directly. This means the supply of SOL may not decrease significantly, as only about 25 SOL would be burned with 10 million transfers.
Despite these limitations, Solana's integration into Samsung's ecosystem provides undeniable economic value. The network already supports $16 billion in stablecoins and 95% of on-chain tokenized stock trading volume. Additionally, AI agents are increasingly using Solana for transactions, driving demand for blockspace and potentially increasing validator fees.
For investors, this deal aligns with a positive trend where Solana is used for high-speed, low-cost payments. While the immediate price impact may be limited, the long-term benefits of broader adoption could make SOL a compelling investment.
