Solana's SOL Token Surges Above $120 Amid Alpenglow Upgrade Buzz
Solana's SOL token has broken above $120 for the first time since January, marking a significant recovery from its August low. According to data shared by Coin Bureau on X, SOL was trading near $75 in early August and has now risen more than 60% from that level.
The token had struggled to clear $120 several times during the week before finally moving above the level. Despite the latest rally, SOL remains slightly down for the year, roughly 58% below its all-time high of near-$294 set in January 2025.
The price move comes ahead of Solana's Alpenglow upgrade, a network development intended to change aspects of the blockchain's consensus infrastructure. Coin Bureau identified this as an upcoming milestone occurring during SOL's recent recovery.
