A solo Bitcoin miner has struck gold, solving block 960,804 and taking home a reward worth approximately $200,000. The block was solved at 02:11 UTC on Monday through CKPool, with the winning address being bc1qdyqjq9qccp34pyv3kxmsrkn7p0amnsqqy8kdeq.

The payout consisted of the standard 3.125 BTC subsidy plus an additional 0.032 BTC in fees from 4,243 transactions. This is not a rare occurrence for CKPool, as it was the 317th solo block found through their service.

Dr-ck, the pseudonymous developer behind CKPool, described the winning miner's hashrate as 'wildly variable - presumably rental' and peaking at 100 PH. This may seem impressive, but in comparison to the network's overall hashrate of 924 exahashes per second, it only amounts to around 0.011%.

Despite this, solo finds continue to happen with some regularity, with recent winners taking home rewards worth $225,000 and $210,000. The fixed block reward remains at 3.125 BTC until the next halving at block 1,050,000 in spring 2028, when it will drop to 1.5625 BTC.
