$SOMNIA Scam Exposed: Viral Video Reveals Truth Behind Companion Robot Model L
A viral video has been circulating online showing what appears to be a sex robot in action. However, it's been revealed that the footage actually shows a motion-capture session being used to collect data for building a companion robot called Model L.
Somnia Lab, the company behind the project, wants to use this data to build a robotic companion that feels alive. The model will have 165 interaction positions and is expected to be around 1.75 meters tall and weigh about 20 kilograms. It's not clear what the final price of the robot will be.
The video shows a performer in a marker suit lying on a blue mat, with a digital skeleton on screen above tracking every movement. This data collection process is being used to create a motion dataset that will eventually go into building Model L.
Somnia Lab has been transparent about the fact that this is just a data collection process and not the final product. They have also warned people about a cryptocurrency scam called $SOMNIA that has popped up using their name.
