Soneium and DayOneDream Partner on Tokenizing K-pop Intellectual Property
Soneium and DayOneDream have partnered to bring K-pop intellectual property and related revenue streams onto the blockchain through DayOneDream's WAVIST platform.
The partnership will see Soneium, an Ethereum layer-2 network developed by Sony Group and Startale Group, combine its infrastructure with WAVIST's work in entertainment financing. This collaboration aims to create tokenized K-content assets and revenue streams, allowing eligible users to participate in the financial value tied to entertainment IP.
According to a September announcement from Soneium and DayOneDream, the companies will leverage WAVIST's earlier success with a tokenized IP bond that was issued in May. This bond demonstrated WAVIST's ability to manage an onchain life cycle for entertainment financing products, including issuance, redemption, and token burning.
The proposed assets would give creators a new way to raise funds for their work while giving supporters a financial stake in the value created. The partnership sees K-pop as a starting point for Soneium's work with entertainment IP.
