Soneium and DayOneDream Tokenize K-pop Revenue for Fans
Soneium, a blockchain developed by Sony Group and Startale Group, has partnered with South Korean entertainment company DayOneDream to tokenize K-pop intellectual property. The deal pairs Soneium's Ethereum layer 2 blockchain with DayOneDream's tokenization platform, WAVIST.
Eligible users will get tokenized exposure to revenue from concerts, streaming and music rights, allowing fans to share in the revenue generated by their favorite artists. Rights holders will also gain a new source of funding through this partnership.
The companies did not disclose when the first assets would be offered or which artists' IP would come first. They also emphasized that who qualifies for tokenized exposure depends on regulatory requirements.
