Sono Group's financial struggles have been exacerbated by its decision to shift focus from solar energy to Bitcoin. The company reported $166,000 in cash and $4.118 million in Bitcoin at June 30, with a net loss of $5.792 million for the first half.

The company spent $5 million on 68.49 BTC between January and June, with its treasury now holding 69.78 BTC worth $4.118 million. However, Sono reported an $890,000 net digital-asset treasury loss for the period.

To mitigate liquidity issues, management has been writing weekly covered calls against its Bitcoin holdings, generating $93,000 of net option income during the first half.
