Sony-Backed Soneium Partners with Dayonedream to Tokenize K-Pop Intellectual Property
Soneium, the blockchain network backed by Sony, has partnered with entertainment company Dayonedream to tokenize K-pop intellectual property and bring its revenue streams onchain. This partnership aims to bridge the gap between entertainment IP and financial infrastructure.
The WAVIST platform, developed by Dayonedream, will connect entertainment assets to financial rails after fulfilling a tokenized bond in May 2026. The companies plan to utilize Soneium's blockchain infrastructure to offer eligible users direct economic exposure to entertainment assets while providing creators and IP owners with alternative financing channels.
Dylan Cho, RWA Lead at Dayonedream, stated that 'K-pop is a market unlike any other, yet the way capital reaches it has barely changed.' He emphasized that their partnership with Soneium opens a real path to investing through the IP itself.
The traditional K-pop investment structures have historically restricted individual supporters from participating directly in the underlying economics of the media they consume. By tokenizing real-world assets associated with K-content, both companies aim to broaden access to production funding and revenue distribution, subject to regulatory compliance.
