South Korea Confirms Crypto Tax Will Begin in January 2027
The South Korean government has confirmed that its long-awaited cryptocurrency tax will take effect in January 2027, bringing an end to years of uncertainty surrounding the country's approach to taxing digital asset investments.
The Finance Minister stated that preparations are continuing to ensure that tax authorities, cryptocurrency exchanges, financial institutions, and investors are ready before the rules become effective.
This confirmation removes much of the uncertainty that has surrounded cryptocurrency taxation since the policy was first proposed several years ago.
