South Korea's Crypto Market Shrinks Amid Age Shift
The crypto market in South Korea is undergoing significant changes, according to a recent survey by the Korea Financial Intelligence Unit (KoFIU) and the Financial Supervisory Service. The survey found that users in their 40s are now the largest age group, surpassing those in their 30s.
The survey also revealed that daily trading volume fell by 44% to 3.1 trillion won, while the value of crypto on domestic exchanges shrank by a third, dropping from 58.9 trillion won to 28.3 trillion won less than in the second half of 2025.
Crypto assets on those exchanges also experienced a 69% maximum drawdown, higher than KOSPI's 55.1% and KOSDAQ's 31.8% over the same period.
