South Korea's FSC Reviews Market Making Rules for Digital Assets
The Financial Services Commission (FSC) in South Korea is reviewing market making rules for digital assets. FSC Director General Yoo Young-joon stated that they will examine whether market making and similar mechanisms can improve market efficiency and stability.
Under the current Act on the Protection of Virtual Asset Users, there are no specific exemptions for market making from unfair trading practices. The proposed Digital Asset Basic Act could introduce a licensing and registration framework for crypto businesses, alongside rules for domestic token issuance and won-pegged stablecoins.
