SpaceX Stands Firm with Unchanged Bitcoin Holdings Amid Market Uncertainty

SpaceX's decision not to sell its Bitcoin holdings during Q2 has been seen as a positive development for the market, contrasting with MicroStrategy's move to sell a significant portion of its BTC stash.

According to SpaceX's quarterly earnings report released on August 4, the company maintained its 18,700 BTC holdings unchanged, despite posting strong revenue performance and narrowing losses. This contrasts with MicroStrategy, which sold 1,638 Bitcoins between July 27 and August 2, generating over $100 million in cash.

The differing approaches by these two companies highlight their unique funding models. While MicroStrategy relies on debt issuance, preferred stock issuance, and equity offerings (high leverage), SpaceX operates with an unleveraged treasury model, using its own capital to fund operations without debt maturity or interest payment pressure.
