SparkLend Surpasses $800M in USDS Borrowing
USDS borrowing on SparkLend has hit a new all-time high of $800 million, representing a 64% increase in just 30 days. This marks a significant milestone for the lending protocol within the Sky ecosystem.
Total liquidity on SparkLend currently stands at around $6.8 billion, with active borrowings totaling approximately $2.13 billion. These assets are largely backed by Ethereum-native assets like wrapped staked ETH.
SparkLend's unique approach to borrowing rates sets it apart from other platforms in the space. Instead of relying on market-driven rates, the protocol uses governance-set borrowing rates for USDS, supported by Sky's Peg Stability Module for stablecoin swaps.
The recent consolidation of SparkLend's operations solely onto Ethereum may increase risks due to heavy reliance on Ethereum staking and the broader Sky ecosystem's governance and reserves.
