SparkLend's TVL Reaches $7.39B as it Ditches Gnosis Chain
SparkLend's total value locked (TVL) has reached $7.39 billion, marking a significant 55% increase since January this year. The protocol's lending arm operates within the Spark ecosystem and is now focusing its efforts on Ethereum, abandoning Gnosis Chain due to low usage and cost inefficiencies.
The TVL figure represents the combined value of assets supplied to the protocol, while actual assets locked stand at around $4.96 billion with approximately $2.436 billion in active loans outstanding. This makes SparkLend the third-largest lending protocol tracked by DefiLlama.
Despite its success on Ethereum, SparkLend's activity is concentrated there, and borrowers who don't migrate or repay before September 14, 2026, will face position liquidation. The decision to shut down Gnosis Chain deployment aligns with the protocol's strategy of focusing on Ethereum-first operations.
